Biographical History

Livingston began his journalism career as a reporter in 1925 and by 1931 he served as executive editor of the NEW YORK DAILY INVESTMENT NEWS. Livingston worked on the staff of BUSINESS WEEK until World War II when he was appointed to the War Production Board as an economist. In 1945 Livingston began publishing his "Business Outlook" column for the PHILADELPHIA EVENING BULLETIN, which eventually became nationally syndicated, and in1964 won a Pulitzer prize for a series entitled, "The Power Pull of the Dollar." Throughout the 1960s and 1970s Livingston wrote for numerous national newspapers and magazines on international economics and politics, aswell as teaching economics at Temple University.
