Biographical History

The Pre-Law Club of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill was founded in order to provide a source of encouragement and information to those students intending to pursue a career in law. Many pre-law students perceived a problem in the university's pre-law advising system, which did not include a full-time counselor. These students founded the Pre-Law Club to provide an alternative outlet for pre-law students. The club functioned as an information exchange for facts about the Law School Admissions Test (LSAT), law schools, and the legal profession. In addition, many club meetings featured talks given by lawyers, politicians, and law professors in order to provide professional guidance to undergraduates interested in a career in law.
