Biographical History

A Tuscarora. Commissioned as lieutenant in Revolutionary army; bodyguard to Marquis de Lafayette; signer of the Treaty of Big Tree, 1794. His brother James was ordained a Baptist minister in 1838. He preached and established churches among the Six Nations.
