Biographical History
David Goldstein earned his Bachelor of Science degree in music education at CCNY in 1939 and a master's degree in composition from Columbia University. Later, he studied at the Long Island College of Medicine, finishing his training in pediatrics in 1953. From 1953 to 1980, he worked as a pediatrician for three days a week, while devoting the rest of his life to music., composing especially for the viol and the recorder. He was a member of the American Recorder Society in New York. Some of his best compositions were memorial pieces he wrote for people he had known. Among his religious scores, one for Psalm 23 was one of his favorites.
