Biographical History

The national General Society of Colonial Wars was established in the early 1890s. The Louisiana chapter was formed during the 1920s by Collins C. Diboll and Allison Owen, partners in the New Orleans architectural firm, Diboll & Owen, Ltd. Members commemorated events occuring within the period beginning with the settlement of Jamestown, Va. (1607), and preceding the battle of Lexington, Va. (1775). Membership was limited to male descendents of prominent men of the Colonial era.
