Biographical History

Frank Mason Brown was president of the Denver, Colorado Canyon and Pacific Railroad Company. He helped lead the Brown-Stanton Colorado River Survey in 1889; Robert Brewster Stanton was the chief engineer of the survey. Their goal was to determine if a railroad could be built along the river. The survey began in March 1889 at Grand Junction, Colorado. Frank Mason Brown drowned in Marble Canyon on July 10th.
