Biographical History

American author, member of the faculty in the English Department at Bowling Green State University, where he was a co-founder (in 1968) of the Creative Writing Program with Philip O'Connor.

In 1966 his son Thomas was one of those killed by a sniper in the University Tower at the University of Texas-Austin.
