Biographical History
Company F was organized in 1859 as a volunteer militia company of light infantry. Soon after its organization, the company entered the 1st Regiment of Virginia Volunteers. In Apr. 1861 it was removed from the 1st Virginia and later assigned to the 21st Virginia Infantry Regiment, which was attached to the Second Brigade, Jackson's Division, Second Corps, Army of Northern Virginia.
An association of surviving members of Company F was formed in Richmond at the end of the war. In 1876, the organization adopted the articles of association and was established as F Company Association, with Charles R. Skinker as president and Robert Alonzo Brock as secretary.
