Biographical History

Mrs. A.B. Brown taught a dame-school for young boys in a small house in the rear of the Tenney-Brown property at 3010 O St., N.W. (formerly 91 Beall St.). Anna Louise Brown (1839-49) attended Miss Lydia English's Georgetown Female Seminary as the report books show. The relationship between the Brown women is unspecified. Both were related to the misses Tenney, who ran the Girl's Seminary in the front house.

From the description of Brown photos and miscellanea, 1847-1865. (District of Columbia Public Library). WorldCat record id: 42712200
