Biographical History
Founded in 1970, the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) is a worldwide professional association dedicated to the use of strategic communication to improve the effectiveness of professionals, businesses, and organizations. Members of the IABC work in fields such as public relations, government relations, corporate communications, public affairs, community relations, writing, editing, and human resources, to name a few. The association provides assistance to members in job searching and placement as well as skill enhancement, and forms a network for the sharing of ideas and solving of problems. The IABC, active in over 80 countries, is split into districts and facilitates the networks of approximately 15,000 working professionals. United States District 5 includes cities in Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Missouri, and Kansas.
