Biographical History
Sir Max Pemberton, English editor and novelist, was born in Warwickshire, educated at Cambridge, and later studied law. He edited Chums, a magazine for boys, 1892-1893, and wrote for Cassell's magazine and the Daily mail. He produced more than sixty books, including mysteries, adventure stories, romances, and history. With his friend, Alfred Harmsworth, later Lord Northcliffe, he founded the London School of Journalism.
