Biographical History

The Douglas County League of Women Voters was provisionally established in 1977. Sonya Blackstock was the first president. In 1978-1979, the league participated in State Land Use and Water Sudies, and held a forum on Water issues in Douglas County. Between 1988 and 1993 the League undertook a study of water issues in Douglas County which led to involvement in the Douglas County Master Plan. The Douglas County League was officially established (recognized by the national League?) in March 1990, and disbanded in 2000.
