Biographical History
Jacksonville, Illinois, farm implement store, begun as a blacksmithing, carriage and wagon making concern by John W. Hall in 1864.
The business was operated by the Hall family until closing in 1970. John W. Hall first owned Keemer and Hall with Elias K. Keemer from 1858 to 1864, when he entered into business for himself, calling his store John W. Hall. When his sons William E. and Harry Ladlow joined the firm it was changed to John W. Hall and Sons. After John W. Hall's death the firm became known as Hall Brothers.
