Biographical History

Came to Detroit about 1793, and remained until the American advent, when he signified his desire to continue a British subject, and removed to the south side of the river. He engaged in trade in Sandwich, and for a number of years was a partner of Robert errant. In 1812 Innes and McGregor owned an 80-ton vessel, the Thames. During the War of 1812, he was quartermaster of the First Regt. of Essex Militia, being present at the battles of Mongaugon, Brownstown, the Surrender of Detroit Frenchtown, and River Raisin. He married Margaret, daughter of Matthew Donovan. MMQ (blue index cards)
