Biographical History
Franklin Clark was born in Provo, Utah, May 12, 1859. Clark worked in the Tintic mines and married Mary Elizabeth Nelson in 1882. They had five sons and one daughter. The Clark family lived in Santaquin for a few years and then moved to Spring Lake, where Clark worked as a farmer. On Dec. 3, 1899, at a LDS stake conference meeting, Franklin Clark was asked to serve a mission to the Southwestern States Mission. He was assigned to the North Texas conference, specifically the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, until Dec. 19, 1901. His wife died in 1928. Clark then married Patience Russell Clark, the widow of his brother, in 1937. Franklin Clark died of old age and cancer on Feb. 12, 1945 at the age of 85 in Provo, Utah.
