Sculptor. Rosalie Gascoigne began sculpting using scrap iron and wooden boxes whilst raising her children at Mt Stromlo, where her husband Ben Gascoigne worked as an astronomer. Four years later she had become a major figure in the Australian art world, with a survey at the National Gallery of Victoria.
