Biographical History

Civil War soldier from La Salle County, Ill; served with 20th Illinois Infantry.

Jennings was taken prisoner at Atlanta on 22 July 1864 and was imprisoned at Andersonville, Florence & Salisbury prisons. He attempted escape several times before he succeeded in rejoining Union forces near Wilmington, N.C., on 22 February 1865.
