Biographical History

William Henry Kistler, II, is a Denver, Colo. businessman. He was president of the W. H. Kistler Stationary Company, founded in 1883 by his grandfather, William Henry Kistler. The original company began as a small bindery and was located at 15th St., between Lawrence and Larimer Sts. The company later developed into a highly successful stationary business that was, for a time, the largest such enterprise in the Western United States. From 1916-1964, the business was located at 1636 Champa St., then moved to a new facility at East 17th St. and Dahlia. The company closed in 1966, but the original Kistler Stationary Building on Champa St. still exists and has been designated an historic landmark.
