Biographical History

Michail M. Dorizas, athlete, educator, traveler. Received his A.M., 1915 and his Ph.D., 1924 from the University of Pennsylvania. He taught economic and political geography at the Wharton School from 1919-1929 as an Instructor and from 1929-1957 as an Assistant Professor. He was known as the world's strongest man, representing Greece in three Olympic games. As a student at the University of Pennsylvania, he excelled in football, track and field, and wrestling, holding the intercollegiate championship title in wrestling for three straight years. He went on three world tours and served in the United States Army during World War I.
