McCormack, Elsie, 1876-

Elsie (Mrs. Frank L.) McCormack (1876-n.d.), a spiritualist, housewife, landlord, and stock investor, believed that she was a "transmitter" of the cosmos. Every morning from 6 to 8 am, for a large segment of her life, she sat at a desk with paper and pencil and wrote the words she received from the cosmos. In spiritual terminology, this is known as automatic writing or automatism. Writing under the pseudonym Anna Goodwill, she published two volumes containing the day-to-day messages she received. In 1943, she published, at her own expense, Trismegetus Revealed, A Royal Romance and Play Upon Words Assembled by the Ghost Writers and Transcribed by A. Goodwill. In 1952, her second volume, The Record of a Mystic, Day by Day Cosmic Wireless in Two Books : "Ecce Homo" and "One Thing Needful", was published by the Universum Book Publishing Company of New York City. The two volumes contain the day-to-day messages she received primarily from 1933-1950.
