Biographical History
Lincoln K. Durst received his Ph.D. in mathematics from the California Institute of Technology in 1952, after completing his dissertation entitled "Apparition and Periodicity Problems of Equianharmonic Divisibility Sequences."
He held mathematics professorships at the Rice Institute (now Rice University) in Houston, Texas, and Claremont Men's College (now Claremont McKenna College) in Claremont, California. He was an active member of the American Mathematical Society and the Mathematical Association of America, particularly as a member of the Committee on the Undergraduate Program in Mathematics (CUPM). Durst also participated in several School Mathematics Study Group summer writing sessions.
