Biographical History

Logan City, Pima County, Ariz. was established in 1883 after the discovery of silver ore in the Quijotoa Mining District. By 1886, the mining boom was over and most inhabitants were gone. The town was named for John T. Logan and William R. Logan, two of the partners in developing the town and building a well. Other partners included James H. Shotwell and George J. Roskruge. Roskruge was also county surveyor and responsible for surveying the townsite.
