Biographical History

James F. Greene, Jr., was a career United States (U.S.) Army officer, the son of a career soldier. He graduated from the United States Military Academy (USMA), West Point, New York, in June 1943 and immediately shipped to Europe where he was assigned to the 5th Ranger Battalion. He served on the infantry equipment test board in Alaska; at the USMA Prep School; was professor of military science (PMS) at Canisius College; was with the Military Mission to Saudi Arabia; was inspector general (I.G.) of 1st Field Force, Vietnam; and was Director of Personnel and Community Activities (DPCA) of the Presidio of San Francisco where he retired in 1973 with the rank of colonel.
