Biographical History

William B. Annin was an engraver of portraits, views, and maps in Boston, Ma. He began engraving around 1813. By 1820, he was a partner in the firm, Annin & Smith. He prepared the plates for several well known books, including Jacob Bigelow's American Medical Botany. Annin was a close friend of John R. Penniman, an ornamental furniture painter.
