Biographical History

Ann Ellison married Percy Wyman Hodges; they arrived in Tucson in the 1930s. They taught and administered the Arizona Sunshine School in Tucson. The open-air private school was opened in 1927 by Evelyn Merriman and advocated a healthy, outdoor lifestyle. Ann Hodges was active in the Tucson Woman's Club, serving as its president and heading its National Safety Council campaign.
