Biographical History

John Boevey was the son of William Boevey of Flaxley Abbey, Gloucestershire. His uncle James (1622-1696) was a wealthy merchant and philosopher who was acquainted with Ashmole, Pepys, Evelyn, and Aubrey. John's sister Mary married Francis Courtenay.
