Mission agency serving Alaska, British Columbia, Alberta, and Saskatchewan; founded in 1951 as Alaska Missions, Inc., with sixteen independent missionaries as the core of the organization, growing to 175 by 1980; name changed to Artic Missions, Inc. (1956), and InterAct Ministries (1988); headquarters located in Anchorage, Alaska (1951-1958), Portland, Oregon (1958-1965) and Boring, Oregon (1965- ); ministry focused on evangelism and church planting in rural villages throughout Alaska, western Canada and Siberia, and included a boarding high school for native Alaskans, outreach camp, Christian conference center, the Arctic Bible Institute (3-year program to train indigenous leadership), and Multi Media Program which produced evangelistic radio programs and audio tapes and administered the Arctic Bible Correspondence School.
