Biographical History

Born Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. Taught in Jessamine Co., Ky., from 1859 until outbreak of Civil War, during which he was a Corporal with the 21st Ohio Infantry Regiment. Married Almira Clay Potts in 1861. Methodist minister, serving pastorates in Kentucky and St. Louis Conferences.
