Biographical History

Pearson, lawyer of Asheville, N.C., was U.S. consul in Belgium; Democratic North Carolina representative, 1884-1886; Republican U.S. representative, 1895-1899 and 1900-1901; consul in Genoa, Italy; minister to Persia, Greece, and Montenegro; and supporter of Theodore Roosevelt's Progressive Party campaign in 1912.
