Biographical History
The Ladies' Relief Sewing Society (LSS) was founded in 1878 in Milwaukee by 20 women to sew clothes for the needy. In 1902, the LSS joined the newly founded Federated Jewish Charities and by 1948 merged into the Jewish Social Service Association. It was finally renamed the Jewish Family and Children's Service.
