Coover, Mervin S., 1890-1976.

Mervin S. Coover received an electrical engineering degree (1914) from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Coover was a Professor (1935-1959) and Head (1935-1954) of the Electrical Engineering Department at Iowa State College (University). He was named Dean Emeritus after his retirement in 1959. Coover served held many other positions at Iowa State University including Director of the Naval Training School - Electrical (1942-1945); and Associate Dean, Acting Head, Administrative Assistant, and Acting Dean in the College of Engineering. Coover was active in several scientific and professional associations and was a supporter of unifying engineering associations.
