John W. King, a medical doctor of Covington, Kentucky, was married to Ann Ruffin Barrow Benoit of West Feliciana Parish, Louisiana. He was president of the Newport Manufacturing Company in Newport, Kentucky.
John W. King was a uranium geologist for the Atomic Energy Commission in Wyoming during the 1960s and 1970s.
New Hampshire governor, 1963-1969; born October 10, 1918, Manchester, New Hampshire; received his B.A. (1938) and M.A. (1941) from Harvard University, and his LL. B. from Columbia University, 1943; became one of only three Democratic governors in New Hampshire during the twentieth century; started first modern state lottery from which he developed a statewide university system; died August 9, 1996.
