Biographical History

Kenneth Scott Latourette was born in Oregon City, Oregon on August 6, 1884. He was educated at Linfield College in Oregon and Yale University. Latourette was a professor of history at Reed College and Denison University and a professor of missions at Yale University. He held leadership positions in the following organizations: American Baptist Convention and Foreign Mission Society, American Historical Association, Far Eastern Association, International Committee of Y.M.C.A.'s, Japan International Christian University Foundation, United Board for Christian Colleges in China, World Council of Churches, and Yale-in-China Association.
