Biographical History
Marcius Willson, 1813-1905, was a prolific author of textbooks for elementary and secondary schools, including histories, readers, and spellers. His works addressed to educators included a notable pamphlet controversy with Emma Willard, 1847, over Willson's critique of competing history textbooks.
