Biographical History

San Carlos or White Mountain Apache, residing during the early 1880's on the San Carlos Reservation in Arizona with his wife, a daughter of Cochise.

During 1886 Gokliz was imprisoned with the Chiricahua Apaches at Fort Marion in San Augustine, Fla., and remained with the Chiricahua prisoners for the rest of his life. From 1888 to 1894 Gokliz was at Mount Vernon, Ala., and he enlisted in the U.S. army in 1891, moving to Fort Sill, Okla., in 1894.
