Megathlin, William L. 1943-

William L. Megathlin (b. July 25, 1943) served as the head of the Criminal Justice department for Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah Georgia during the time this material was collected. Dr. Megathlin collected the information about the jail between 1973 and 1979, during the time the jail was gutted of its cell block, leaving only its exterior walls. Dr. Megathlin researched the history of the building at local libraries and found the jail keeper's records inside a sealed room within the building.
