Biographical History

Dorena R. Elliott (1902-1997) was an African American clubwoman in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. She was active in several African American fraternal organizations associated with the Masonic Order, including the Daughters of Isis. The Imperial Court, Daughters of Isis, is an auxiliary of female family members of Prince Hall Shriners, and was formally organized at the annual session of the Ancient Egyptian Arabic Order Nobles of the Mystic Shrine, held in Detroit, Michigan, on August 24, 1910. Elliott and her husband, Edgar M. Elliott (1898-1996), were also active in the Order of the Eastern Star, Prince Hall Affiliated, Grand Chapter of Indiana. Dorena R. Elliott served in various capacities in both organizations.
