Biographical History

Myron Abbott was born in Pike County, Illinois, on December 1, 1837. Abbott's father died in 1843, leaving his mother to care for him and his seven siblings. In 1849 the family traveled in a Mormon company to Salt Lake City. Abbott married Laura Allen, the first of his four wives, at Ogden, Utah, in 1860. In 1879 Abbott and his wives and children were part of Edward Bunker's United Order of Enoch collective Mormon community at Bunkerville, Nevada, which lasted until 1880. At that time Abbott and his family moved to Mesquite, Nevada, on the banks of the Virgin River. Abbott died in Mesquite on September 3, 1907.
