Biographical History

DuMont was a Chicago mechanical engineer, Good Humor ice cream vendor, conservative Christian evangelist, and political gadfly. He opposed Richard Nixon, Communism, and many other issues in the self-published newsletter The Republimerican Retort. DuMont ran for president in 1968, 1972, and 1976, and for U. S. Senator from Illinois in 1974.
