Biographical History
Lloyd M. Brett (b. Feb. 22, 1856, Dead River, Maine-d. Sept. 23, 1927), brigadier general in the U.S. Army, graduated from the U.S. Military Academy in 1879. He first served with the 2nd Cavalry, earning the Medal of Honor for “gallantry” in action against hostile Sioux Indians (1880). He later was Adjutant General, D.C. militia, and superintendent, Yellowstone National Park. During World War I General Brett was commander of the 160th Infantry Brigade overseas.
