Young, Clarence, 1942-

Playwright, actor and producer. Clarence Young was born in Dayton, Ohio, and educated at Capital University (B.A. 1979). From 1961 to 1965, he served in the U.S. Air Force. Since 1969, he has been director and resident playwright of Theater West, in Dayton. His work as a playwright and performer has been twice televised on the University of Michigan TV series on black theater, "Black theater USA," and "Black theater and its audience," 1970. Between 1970-1980 the governor of Ohio appointed Clarence Young to a variety of positions, including: Council for the Arts, 1970-1974; drama and dance coach for Dayton Urban Youth Behavioral Program, 1979; consultant to youth, Resurrection Church, 1980; consultant to the Dayton Board of Education, 1980.
