Mina Gluecksmann Perlberger was born a Hasidic Jew in Tyczyn, Poland. Her plans to become an artist and poet ended with the advent of World War II. She met and married her husband, Alexander Perlberger, in Rzeszow, Poland. She emigrated to the United States with her husband and infant son in 1949.
Mina Gluecksmann Perlberger was born a Hasidic Jew in Tyczyn (Tyszowce?), Poland. Her plans to become an artist and poet were ended with the advent of World War II. She spent time in the ghetto of Rzeszow, Poland, and almost two years hiding in a bunker near a Polish farmhouse. She met and married her husband, Alexander Perlberger, in Rzeszow. After liberation, she and her sister, Sabina Gluecksmann, spent three years in a displaced persons camp. She emigrated to the United States with her husband and young son in 1949.
