Biographical History

Edward Perkins Sparhawk (1728-1796), the son of Rev. Nathaniel and Elizabeth (Perkins) Sparhawk, was born on 28 September 1728. He graduated from Harvard in 1753, and though he periodically preached throughout Essex County, never accepted a parish of his own. He married, on 8 November 1759, Mehitabel ("Hittee") Putnam (1734-1778) of Danvers, the daughter of Col. David and Rebecca (Perley) Putnam. They resided on a family farm in Lynnfield, Mass. He married second, on 20 April 1780, Mrs. Zeruia Adams. He died at Lynnfield on 8 March 1796.
