Reynolds worked as a child actor in the 1930s before serving in World War II. He resumed his acting career after the war and retired from acting in 1957 and turned toward motion picture and television production and direction.
Reynolds was born in Cleveland, Ohio, April 4, 1925; started his career in acting in the 1930s and appeared in films such as Love finds Andy Hardy (1938), and Boys Town (1938); produced or directd television series such as, Room 222 (1969-74), M*A*S*H (1972-76), and Lou Grant (1977-82).
