Biographical History

Incorporated in 1893 under the laws of the state of Washington, the company purposed to construct and purchase telegraph lines in Washington state and elsewhere. In 1896, it purchased from D.C. Corbin (in exchange for $39,800 in capital stock) the telegraphic line along the route of the Spokane Falls and Northern Railway and the Nelson and Fort Sheppard Railway, extending from Spokane (Wash. State) to Nelson (B.C.), as well as an additional line along the Red Mountain Railway from the international boundary to Rossland (B.C.). In 1908, the company conveyed its Washington holdings to GN; its line from the international boundary to Nelson (B.C.), to the Nelson and Fort Sheppard, and its line from the international boundary to Rossland (B.C.), to the Red Mountain Railway. Net receipts on the sales were divided pro rata among the stockholders and the corporation ceased to function.
