Biographical History

Erin Clermont was part of a women's consciousness-raising group in New York City in the early 1970s. In an effort to portray women struggling with establishing identities independent of men, five women in the group decided to write a feminist soap opera. Through the Looking Glass was written in 1971 by Clermont, Antonia Bryan, Ellen Leopold, Honor Moore, and Claudia Weill. Jay Sanford of International Famous served as their agent although he died shortly thereafter.
