Biographical History
Georgia B. Miller, active in business computing education, served in various leadership positions in the Data Processing Management Association (DPMA) at the chapter, regional, and international levels. At the chapter level, she served as Secretary for the South Central Kentucky chapter in 1974 and held the offices of Executive Vice President (1979), President (1980), and International Director (1982) in the Central Indian Chapter. In Region 9, Miller held the offices of Coordinator (1982) and Vice President (1983) in addition to serving on regional committees. At the international level, she served as International Vice President for Education Services (1984-1985?), International Vice President for Research and Planning (1985-circa 1986), Executive Vice President (1988), and International President (1989).
Her interest in education led her to be one of the founders of the DPMA Education Special Interest Group (EDSIG) and she became the first president (1983) when the Executive Council created EDSIG. In addition, she was a member of the DPMA Education Foundation (DPMA EF) Board of Regents from (1979-1983) and served as DPMA EF Vice President (1981-1982).
Georgia Miller served in the Office Systems Research Society (OSRA) as Secretary/Historian (1982) before becoming Vice President for Professional Studies and Office Systems Model Curriculum Chairperson concurrently (1983-1984). She also served as the Treasurer (1984-1985) for the Indianapolis chapter of the Administrative Management Society (AMS).
