Linus Yale: manufactured first lock at Shelburne Falls, Mass., 1851, known as "Yale Infallible Bank Lock"; improved this lock, 1851-1860; received patent for "Cylinder Lock", 1861; with Henry R. Towne established the Yale Lock Manufacturing Company, 1868, with a plant in Stamford, Connecticut.
Linus Yale manufactured his first lock at Shelburne Falls, Mass. in 1851, known as the "Yale Infallible Bank Lock." He improved this lock between 1851 and 1860; received a patent for a "Cylinder Lock" in 1861; and, with Henry R. Towne established the Yale Lock Manufacturing Company in 1868, with a plant in Stamford, Connecticut.
