Biographical History

Peck was a Chicago lawyer, supporter of Abraham Lincoln, member of the Illinois state senate (1838-1840) and state house (1840-1842, 1858-1860), Illinois supreme court clerk (1842-1848) and reporter (1849-1863), and judge of the federal court of claims (1863-1878).
