Biographical History

Jean Rouverol was a screenwriter for many television serial dramas, including “As the World Turns”, “Guiding Light”, “and Search for Tomorrow”. Her early career was disrupted when she and her husband, writer Hugo Butler, were blacklisted in the 1950s. The couple moved to Mexico but returned to the United States in 1964. Rouverol became a regular staff writer for “Bright Promise” in 1970 and was later hired as co-head writer for “Guiding Light”.
